Eating out and socializing

The last few days have been filled with socializing and a bit too much eating out.

First up was my sister's birthday brunch at Hobees.

Seasonal coffee cake.

My brother ordered this so I could take a picture of it.

Apple walnut coffee cake.

I am sure it was a great sacrifice to have to dig into this pillowy mound of spiced coffee cake but he managed :-)

I ordered the De Anza hash browns - (hold the cheese) and a poached egg on top.

The birthday girl got Huevos Rancheros.

The next day, I had a goodbye lunch for a neighbor who is moving soon.

I do love the salsa at this restaurant.

The salsa is a little bit smoky, a little bit spicy and totally yummy.

I decided on one of the specials.

Enchiladas with mole Poblano.
The mole was incredibly pungent. They put on a sprinkle of spices that I wasn't sure I was a fan of but when you piled it all together on your fork it was rich, slightly bitter and delicious.

My friend chose one of my favorite dishes (pre-stomach issues) - Chile Rellenos.

And my other friend chose the Chicken Enchiladas with green sauce.

I do plan on spending the next few days eating lots of greens and yogurt to make my stomach happy.

Don't worry, I am sure I will be unable to keep myself from cooking - it will just be on the lighter side for a bit.

Happy Friday, all !!!

  1. You have been out and about dining in style. All those food pictures are doing nothing but making me hungry and envious! Have a great weekend!

  2. Of course through the whole post all I can think about is the ONE sweet item--the coffecake! Looks like some great eats lately!
