One the 4th of July I ate a hotdog in a tortilla.
A beef hotdog slathered in ketchup and mustard. |
I also enjoyed a hearty portion of pickled cabbage with apples.
I marinated some thin cut pork chops in olive oil, peaches and balsamic vinegar.
These turned out so well that I ate them without any side dishes. I didn't want anything to distract from the taste.
And after a hectic morning where I got lost and was 45 minutes late to an appointment, I stopped by Whole Foods.
Here is some advice, don't shop at Whole Foods when you are craving fruit because you will end up bringing home this:
Peaches, blackberries, apricots, angelcots, and cherries. |
I also treated myself to my favorite cold salad at Whole Foods:
It is a great mixture of orzo with feta cheese, olives, red onion and pine nuts all tossed in a balsamic dressing.
I always get the small container because I usually eat the entire thing.
This is one dish I plan on recreating one of these days...
And I also enjoyed this drink:
I loved this kombucha! It only had a tiny vinegar bite and it was filtered. Instead of having the leave the last bit in the bottle to avoid the 'floaters' on the bottom, I got to enjoy this drink to the last drop.
Happy Tuesday!
the salad looks great!
ReplyDeleteI've never tried that salad from Whole Foods! It sounds right up my alley...I'm gonna take a peek.
ReplyDeleteAngelcots? Interesting... I've never heard of them.
ReplyDeleteWow what a brilliant idea, eating a hotdog in a lettuce wrap :) Keeps it a bit healthier and low carb which is always good!!
