After a very fun Wednesday night, I met a friend for breakfast on Thursday morning.
We met at a cafe/diner that is on a main street but seems a bit tucked away.
The outside does not match the inside.
It took us two tries to order because we were so busy chatting we kept forgetting to look at the menu:-)
Catching up with a friend is the best!
I ordered the breakfast burrito which was a delicious combination of bacon, cheese, egg wrapped in a surprisingly light tortilla.
My friend ordered french toast and said it was very tasty, but sadly, no picture of that. No picture = fun conversation.
But the star of the show was the corned beef hash. The reviewers on Yelp had wonderful things to say about this particular dish.
The corned beef hash was wonderful! It was crispy on the outside and filled with meat and potato in the middle.
And there is a particular texture to corned beef hash - it shouldn't be mushy but it should be thick. This one was just right.
I am definitely coming back again and just ordering a big plate of the corned beef hash.
Happy Friday!
The savory part of the title speaks to my love of all things savory and corresponding mild to excessive dislike of all things sweet. The savage? That would be my two dogs (delicately furred and feathery sighthounds). I make my own creations and I conjure up a modified version of the same recipe for the dogs - usually omitting ingredients that would not agree with them and adding in items that add nutrition into their monotonous diet of kibble.

Breakfast burrito
After my day of lite eating from 7-11, I was hungry for a hearty breakfast this morning.
I combined some leftover cooked quinoa with some of my favorite salsa.
And if you are curious about which salsa is my favorite, here it is.
This salsa pretty much tastes like I combined all the ingredients fresh and poured them into this jar. It is very yummy.
Then I scrambled some eggs over low heat. I like my eggs well flavored so I added some paprika, basil, pepper and salt.
And a generous sprinkling of cheese.
And since I was up way too late last night, I had a big mug of very strong tea.
The good news of the morning is that I think I have figured out most of the ins and outs of my new computer so I will be able to 'cut the cord' and venture out of the house today :-)
